15th Annual Extreme Thing Sports & Music Festival

All the action of extreme sports and killer music comes back once again with the 2010 Extreme Thing Sports & Music Festival. Powered by Clark County Parks and Recreation, this all-ages event will get folks revved up for Nevada’s premier action sports and music festival, featuring great music, BMX dirt jumping, professional wrestling, roller derby and more. Extreme Thing is set for Saturday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at Desert Breeze Skate Park, 8275 Spring Mountain Road at Durango Drive. Tickets go on sale Saturday, Jan. 23, and are $17 for GA or $35 for a combo package, which includes a GA ticket, event t-shirt and commemorative event poster in advance or $20 at the door.

As always, Extreme Thing features great bands for folks of all ages and this year’s lineup includes: The Used, Escape the Fate, Winds of Plague, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Story of the Year, The Cab, Never Shout Never, Hey Monday, Every Avenue, The Summer Set with more to be released. Ricardo Laguna will once again present his pro-BMX dirt jump competition and Adrenaline Unleashed returns bringing professional wrestling to the outdoors.

Also back this year is the roller derby tournament featuring the toughest ladies from around the country and the Vegas Am Jam amateur BMX and skate competition. XPOZ Zone will once again present the local band stage for its annual Battle of the Fans while promoting a smoke-free scene; visit www.smokefreescene.com for more information.

Earlier this year Travis McCoy, front man of Gym Class Heroes and Staying Alive Foundation Ambassador embarked on an epic, life-changing adventure. This adventure saw him travel to South Africa, Philippines and India, to meet with young people who run remarkable grass-roots HIV and AIDS awareness projects.

When Travis returned from his travels, the adventure was far from over… He had just a few weeks to write and record a brand new track inspired by his experiences.

Travis embraced the challenge; the track titled One At A Time is OUT NOW and available to download via iTunes in the (US) and BandCamp (globally). All proceeds from sales will benefit the Foundation, enabling us to fund many more vital HIV projects around the world.

Travis and the Foundation are now asking for your help. Travis has committed to raising $100k for the Foundation, but he can't do it without you....
